NIT Silchar Recruitment Examination Details 2025
1. Name of Post: Registrar (Deputation).
No of posts: 01 posts.
Educational Qualification : Masters' degree with at least 55% Marks or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7 point scale from a recognized University / Institute.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 56 years.
Pay Scale: Level-14.
2. Name of Post: Librarian (Deputation).
No of posts: 01 posts.
Education Qualification:Master's Degree in Library Science/ information Science/Documentation with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 points scale or at least 60% marks or its equivalent grade of 'B' in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record set out in these regulation’s.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 56 years.
Pay Scale: Level-14.
3. Name of Post: Assistant Registrar.
No of posts: 01 posts.
Education Qualification:Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks or its equivalent
Grade in the CGPA / UGC point scale with good academic record from a
recognized University / Institute.
OR
Employees serving as Superintendent (SG-I) / Private Secretary (NFG) in PB2, GP of Rs.5400/- with at least two years regular service or Superintendent
(SG-II) / Private Secretary (NFG) in PB-2 GP of Rs.4800/- with at least five
years regular service with Master's degree.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years.
Pay Scale: Assistant Registrar: Level-10.
4. Name of Post: Hindi Officer.
No of posts: 01 posts.
Education Qualification:Master's degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a
compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the
degree level
OR
Master’s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a
compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the
degree level
OR
Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or
English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject
or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
OR
Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or
English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject
or as a medium of a examination at the degree level;
OR
Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or
English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of
the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or
elective subject at the degree level.

Education Qualification:i. First Class Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institute in any discipline

Institute with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade
ii. Knowledge of Computer applications viz., Word processing, Spread sheet.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years.
Pay Scale: Superintendent: Level-6.
6. Name of Post: Junior Hindi Translator.
No of posts: 01 posts.
Education Qualification:i) Master's degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level
OR
Master's degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a
compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination
OR
Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than
Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or
elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level;
OR
Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than
Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or
elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level;
OR
Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than
Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective
subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other
as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level
ii) Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to
English & vice versa or two years’ experience of translation work from
Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government office,
including Government of India Undertaking.

Pay Scale: Junior Hindi Translator: Level-6.
7. Name of Post: Senior Technician.
No of posts: 01 posts.
Education Qualification:Senior secondary (10+2) with Science from a Government recognized board with at least 60% marks
OR
Senior secondary (10+2) from a Government recognized board with at least
50% marks and ITI Course of one year or higher duration in appropriate
trade
OR
Secondary (10) with at least 60% marks and ITI Certificate of 2 years duration
in appropriate trade
OR
Diploma in Engineering of three year’s duration in relevant field from a
Government recognized Polytechnic / Institute.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 33 years.
Pay Scale: Senior Technician: Level-4.
8. Name of Post: Technician.
No of posts: 04 posts.
Education Qualification:Senior secondary (10+2) from a recognized board with a minimum Typing speed of 35 w p m. and proficiency in Computer Word Processing and Spread Sheet.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 27 years.
Pay Scale: Technician: Level-3.
9. Name of Post: Junior Assistant.
No of posts: 03 posts.
Education Qualification:Senior secondary (10+2) with Science from a Government recognized
board with at least 60% marks
OR
Senior secondary (10+2) from a Government recognized board with at
least 50% marks and ITI Course of one year or higher duration in
appropriate trade
OR
Secondary (10) with at least 60% marks and ITI Certificate of 2 years
duration in appropriate trade
OR
Diploma in Engineering of three year’s duration in relevant field from a
